The standards of proficiency that operating department practitioners must meet in order to join, and remain on, the HCPC Register. 

This qualitative study aimed to explore expectations of the role of the HPC as a regulator, initial expectations when preparing and lodging a complaint, case handling and the outcome of the fitness to practise process.

This report provides information about the number and types of approval visits, the outcome of these visits, the number and type of monitoring submissions, and the outcome of this monitoring.

Case study: An employer raised concerns about an operating department practitioner’s (ODP) conviction of fraud. For this conviction, she was sentenced to 18-months imprisonment and suspended for 24 months.

Case study: A podiatrist self-referred following a conviction for driving under the influence of alcohol.
